MEET AMANDA
At 12 years old, Amanda decided to part from her tomboy soccer playing ways and be girlier. So she started taking ballet, jazz, and modern classes at a local studio in St. Louis, Missouri. When she moved to New York for college she met her first Filipino friend who introduced her to hip hop dancing and fell in love…with the dance style, not the friend. As E.P.I.C. Motion’s Co-Artistic Director since its humble beginnings, Amanda has performed and choreographed for various competitions/shows such as FR3SH’s Main Event, Prelude EC, World of Dance NY, BU Fusion’s Elements X, and Funkanometry SF’s Annual Sockhop while also training at Broadway Dance Center. She has taught workshops in the NYC/NJ area for companies such as Sercis Company, Project D Dance Company, and Fr3sh Dance Company. Amanda has also taught in California for Boogiezone, Funkanometry SF Company Class, Delafemme Company Class, The Opportunity Workshop(Sacremento Edition), Groove Basics in San Diego and is now a member of Essence under the direction of Gigi Torres. Amanda’s choreography is inspired by many different dance styles, but most importantly, she simply tries to express the feeling music gives to her. Always a student first, she simply enjoys sharing her movement and experiences with other open minds. Fresh to LA, Amanda currently takes as many classes as possible at Millennium Dance Complex and Debbie Reynolds Studio as well as working full time for Movement Lifestyle.
