MEET CHARLES
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chux grew up outside the city in a small town in south Jersey called Blackwood. He has been dancing since he was a pre-teen in grade school with his close friends, but it wasn’t until his freshman year of college at Rutgers University in 2004 that he was introduced to the Urban Dance Community. He joined FR3SH and was a member for 2 years, including serving as Assistant Director for a year. Chux was also a member of RAPS Dance Troupe (RDT) for a short period of time in the Spring of 2006. Despite having to leave FR3SH a few months later due to personal reasons, he kept dancing as much as he could by taking classes and choreographing for cotillions and local shows. Then in early 2009, him and his friends started their own team: iNSPIRED!. That summer he was also hired by a local dance studio, Serova School of Dance, to teach hip-hop classes to kids ranging from ages 6-17. In the Fall of 2010, wanting to further increase his training as a dancer, he once again joined RDT and was a member for a full season.
Chux always talks about the love he has for his iNSPIRED! Family and devotes his whole life to them. For him, iNSPIRED! is his number one priority and his future as he continues to pursue his dream of having his own studio. Dancing isn’t just a temporary hobby for him, but a life passion. It’s his way of expressing himself in ways that his own words cannot. His experiences as a dancer have taught him many things, but he never stays complacent and always looks to improve in his art. One of the things he enjoys most about dancing is teaching others and passing down everything he has learned. At the same time he also believes in the importance of learning from others because in his eyes, everyone in the dance community has something to offer. His main goal, as a dancer and as a person, is to hopefully inspire other people to be the best that they can be in any and every aspect of their lives, and he carries that philosophy to iNSPIRED!.
